R&D Scientist

Job Responsibilities:

Design and execute the development plan of formulation, including deadlines imperatives, feasibility and cost to develop clinical and commercial formulations that meet the regulatory and marketing needs. Develop solid oral dosage (IR, ER, DR etc) and suspension/solution formulations for ANDA/some cases NDA product and processes with sufficient stability for research, pharmacology, toxicology and early clinical studies. Formulation process development and scale-up activities. Contribute to CMC sections for regulatory filings. Ensure the smooth tech transfer to plant. Insure the key responsibility of formulation projects realized in the Company and with external collaborations. Identifying formulation and/or drug delivery technologies that provide the most value or positive impact to the company’s portfolio. Mentor and develop the technical staff and Coach, counsel, and discipline direct reports as appropriate.

Job Requirements:

PhD degree in chemistry/formulation (or PharmD or equivalent). 6-8 years formulation development experience in the Pharma industry including 2-3 years of at supervisory level. Comprehensive expertise in formulation development for solid oral dosages and suspension/solution for ANDA filings in USA. Leadership and communication skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment is a must. Experience and knowledge in cGMP is required. Previous experience in controlled substance facility is preferred.

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager is responsible for the organizing; directing and controlling the day activities of subordinated
